I am the creator of Magical Mama, LLC, and I am excited to facilitate our Reiki I and II Certification retreat in Sedona, in our second year! 

In 2005, I found myself in extreme jaw pain, seemingly overnight, unable to open my mouth more than an inch, and unable to chew food. After seeing an MD and a dentist, I was diagnosed with Temporo Mandibular Joint Disorder, or TMJD. The cartilage in my jaw had worn down, and I was experiencing bone on bone grinding in my jaw, causing inflammation and pain. I was told that this was incurable, as cartilage in this area does not grow back, and that for the rest of my life, I would need to take anti-inflammatory medications daily, receive steroid injections regularly, and wear a specially fitted mouth brace while I slept, every night. There were risks with these medications, especially with longterm use, and the mouth brace alone was an expense of $2,000, after insurance. 

This was disconcerting, to say the least, and I began to feel hopeless, as I scheduled my appointment for the mouth brace fitting, and lived on a liquid diet for the next two weeks. 

Sometime during these two weeks, I remembered that a doula colleague of mine was also a Reiki practitioner. I knew very little about Reiki, but I understood that it was useful in treating a variety of mental, physical, and emotional issues. I reached out to my colleague and asked if she thought this could possibly help. She asked her mentor, who provided her with a protocol for treating TMJD, and she let me know she'd love to see if this could provide some support. 

She recommended an initial treatment of two sessions in one week, and then a reassessment for going forward. I saw her for our first session the next day, which was an hour long, and very relaxing and restorative. She also recommended that I begin taking an anti-inflammatory homeopathic remedy, called Arnica. 

The next morning, I could open my jaw an additional two inches, and the pain was reduced by half. The next session, two days later, was, again, very relaxing and rejuvenating.  The next morning, I woke up pain-free, with minor soreness, and could open my mouth all the way. Within two days, I was eating normally. 

I had one more Reiki session, the following week, and felt completely normal at that time. I cancelled all medical treatments and continued on the arnica for about two weeks. To this day, 17 years later, I can eat anything I want, aside from steak and almonds, and I have never experienced a relapse. 

This was my introduction into the power and effectiveness of Reiki.

This certification retreat includes all instruction, materials, workbook, demonstrations, attunements, practice lab, and final exams for professional certification in Reiki I and II and Chakra Balancing I and II. You will leave with professional certificates in-hand that can be used to identify yourself in the state of Arizona as a "Certified Reiki Practitioner" and "Certified Chakra Balancing Practitioner."

And, if you are currently a business owner who files taxes, this means that this retreat is 100% tax deductible! 

Our retreat begins on Friday evening and ends Monday morning. It includes accommodations for three nights as well as healthy dinner Friday evening, healthy & organic breakfast Saturday morning, Sunday morning, and Monday morning.

We will also be crafting our own crystal chakra bracelets and receiving a professional chakra balancing crystal kit. And then, will enjoy a Sedona vortex field trip to charge them! While at the vortex, we will also experience some local foraging in order to create our own herbal smudge bundles. 

We will have morning meditation, sound healing, and a Sedona hike.

During the retreat, you will also receive Group Reiki, Personal Reiki, Group Chakra Balancing, and a Personal Chakra Balancing Session. 

This is our most intimate Magical Mama retreat, with only six spots available, to ensure that each participant has ample time and experience with the material, and to learn and grow at her own pace. 

We depart on Monday morning, which gives participants time to enjoy the surrounding beauty of Sedona, and to explore the sacred sites, while integrating all the teachings and experiences of the weekend.

Helpful Tips for the Weekend:

We recommend consuming extra water, throughout the weekend, and making healthy food choices.  We also recommend extra sleep and downtime, between teaching sessions. 

Food: 

You are welcomed to store and cook any of your food in the kitchen. It is a small kitchen, so it will be cozy, if there’s more than one cook in there at a time!  Natural Grocers is very close to our location, so it would be easy to grab groceries from there, anytime during the retreat.

We are in a trusted Air BnB that we have used for two Magical Mama retreats, previously.  The home is simple, clean, and functional. It has a rock labyrinth in the backyard, and is in a quiet neighborhood close to the vortex we will be hiking at.

We have three shared room, single bed options, $1111 per bed, or 3 Monthly Payments of $377/ $377/ $377. 

We have one top bunk bed and one floor air mattress option for $999, or 3 Monthly Payments of $350/$350/$350.

We also have one queen bed private room option  for $1313 or $444/$444/$444.
